Jane is a graduate of Dartmouth College and a 2008 graduate of the Certificate Program in Sound, Voice and Music Healing from the California Institute of Integral Studies, where she is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Integrative Health Studies with Sound Healing Focus.

Jane has performed across the United States in two national companies of The Phantom of the Opera and has earned two Bay Area Theatre Critics’ Circle Awards and a Drama-Logue Award for appearances with San Francisco’s Lamplighters. She has served as Musical Director for five Young Conservatory world premiere musicals, and co-directed the Young Conservatory Cabaret and Musical Ensembles. She is also on the faculty at American Conservatory Theater (ACT) and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (Summer Music West) and has taught singing, acting and musical theater in both the Young Conservatory and the MFA Program. Hammett presently serves on the vocal faculty at Sonoma State University where she teaches voice lessons. Hammett has directed numerous productions for such companies as the Lamplighters, Pocket Opera, San Francisco Opera Guild’s Opera á la Carte, San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Summer Music West, and the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton, England. Jane Hammett joins Island City Opera as Stage Director for the March 2019 production of La Rondine.
